One killed, five injured as auto collides with car in Rameswaram

One person was killed and five, including an auto driver, were injured when their auto collided with a car near Dhanushkodi in Rameswaram on Saturday, police said.

One person was killed and five, including an auto driver, were injured when their auto collided with a car near Dhanushkodi in Rameswaram on Saturday, police said.

There were among a group of 1500 devotees who had come from Gujarat here.

After seeing 'Agnitheertham' and Ramanathaswamy temple, they hired an auto for going to Dhanushkodi to see the 'Ramar palam' (the bridge believed to have been built by Lord Ram to cross over to Lanka to rescue Sita).

Gopurboy (65) died on the spot.

The injured were admitted to the Rameswaram Government Hospital.
