One person has died in an explosion at a cracker manufacturing factory located in the outskirts of Kethun village in the district, police said.
The blast occurred Friday noon when a drum containing gunpowder caught fire and exploded in which a labourer identified as Ghanshyam Baragi (35) suffered 90 per cent burns, they said.
Though Baragi was rushed to a local hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The blast was so powerful that it blew off the factory roof and iron sheet pieces and other debris were seen scattered around 100 to 150 meters away, police said.
Though seven other labourers were working in the factory at the time of the incident, they escaped unhurt.
A case has been registered against the owner of the factory.
