One naxalite held in Bihar

A naxalite belonging to the proscribed CPI (Maoist) was arrested on Wednesday after police raided a village in Bihar's Rohtas district.

A naxalite belonging to the proscribed CPI (Maoist) was arrested on Wednesday after police raided a village in Bihar's Rohtas district.

Maan Dev was arrested from his rented house at East Mohan Bigaha village after a tip-off. A pistol, 500 live cartridges and several magazines of SLR were seized from him, district Superintendent of Police Vikas Vaibhav said.

A pick-up van, containing three bags of literature and naxalite uniform, found from the naxalite's house has also been seized, he added.

Dev is a resident of Joga village in Palamu district in Jharkhand.
