The Crime Branch of the Mumbai police arrested one person with a imported revolver and a two live rounds worth Rs one lakh on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip off, the police arrested Satyavan Maruti Ghadigaokar (42), a resident of Dahisar who was looking out for a prospective customer to sell the weapon.
The police laid a trap at the Sahnaaz Café and Store in Sion where Ghadigaokar was identified and arrested.
According to the police, Ghadigoakar was waiting for a prospective customer to sell the weapon at the Sahnaaz café, when he was identified and arrested.
The revolver seized from the accused had a 'Made in Germany' tag on it.
The remand application filed by the police said that Ghadigaokar has a strong police record with over 12 charges against him including murder, attempt to murder and extortion.
The police are further investigating where Ghadigokar got the weapon from and whether he has used it for any severe crime.
