Online booking of helicopter tickets for Amarnath yatra to commence on March 27

Online booking of helicopter tickets for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2014 shall commence on March 27 at 10am. Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has made arrangements with the Pawan Hans Limited and the Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd for providing the services on the Neelgrath (Baltal)-Panjtarni-Neelgrath (Baltal) sector and the Himalayan Heli Services Pvt Ltd for the services on the Pahalgam-Panjtarni-Pahalgam sector, as informed by SASB chief executive officer Navin K Choudhary.


Choudhary informed that online booking facility would be available on www.pawanhans.co.in, www.onlineglobalhelicorp.com and www.himalayanheli.com respectively.

The per passenger one-way fare for Neelgrath (Baltal)-Panjtarni and Pahalgam-Panjtarni sectors have been fixed at Rs 1,950 and Rs 4,190, respectively.

Choudhary stated that the Yatris who wish to avail the service are not required to seek an advance registration through the designated bank's branches, as their helicopter tickets should be treated as the Yatra permits. However, all such pilgrims shall not be allowed to board the helicopter services unless they produce the required compulsory health certificate issued by authorised doctor/ institutes, which have been notified by their respective state governments.

These pilgrims shall have to furnish compulsory health certificates at the time of boarding the helicopter at Neelgrath or Pahalgam, without which the boarding passes will not be issued to them.

The CEO also informed that a maximum of five passengers shall be booked with one credit / debit card. The same card should not be used for booking of tickets for the next three weeks. The card used for booking should be reproduced at the time of issuance of the boarding pass.
