The Congress said on Friday that it was the only party acceptable to all the three regions of the state. It said the party believes in secular ideology and people of the state also don't want any force which is inimical to the pluralistic approach.
Congress leader Abdul Majid Wani, who has been given mandate from the Doda assembly seat, said this.
He said unlike the Congress all other parties have limited base are restricted to certain pockets. He said the people have faith in the party and the Congress will form its own government in the state.
Wani said massive development works were carried out in the state by the party when it was in the government in the last 12 years, especially in areas which were left unattended.
He said the party workers should highlight the achievements of the UPA government at the Centre when it launched many schemes for rural developments, like MNREGA. The improvements in the health sector apart from the introduction of the RTI Act to bring about transparency in the system, should be brought to the notice of the electorate, he said.
Wani said the state witnessed peaceful relations with Pakistan when the Congress was in power, but with the BJP now in the government people have suffered because of the worsening relations with Pakistan. He said the Centre's response to the floods was not up to the expectations of the affected people.
Congress candidate said the state witnessed historical period of development when Ghulam Nabi Azad was the chief minister and people should give another chance to the party.
