Oudh Bar goes to poll today

THE ANNUAL general election of the Oudh Bar Association of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court will be held here on Wednesday. The polling for the 22 posts will begin at 10 am. and last till 5 pm with a half-an-hour lunch break in the afternoon.

THE ANNUAL general election of the Oudh Bar Association of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court will be held here on Wednesday. The polling for the 22 posts will begin at 10 am. and last till 5 pm with a half-an-hour lunch break in the afternoon.

The election is being held under the supervision of a specially constituted committee of five senior lawyers.

Meanwhile the strike of the high court staff continued for the second consecutive day here today hitting the working of the high court considerably. It is likely to continue tomorrow. The employees have been demanding re-instatement of their general secretary Rakesh Verma, who had been suspended nearly eight years ago.

DJ appears in court: District judge, Barabanki, Hari Mangal Singh appeared before a division bench of the high court comprising Justices Bhanwar Singh and DV Sharma here on Tuesday in compliance of earlier orders of the court.

The bench while exempting his (DJ) personal appearance for future, posted the matter for hearing on December 12 next.

The bench had summoned the DJ for clarification regarding implementation of an order relating to appointment of class III and IV employees of Barabanki district judgeship.
