Mudslide and water-logging on tracks at the Pomendi section in the Ratnagiri-Nivsar region, affected outstation services for second time in two days.

Among the trains affected were the special trains for Ganeshotsav festival run by the Konkan Railway, Central Railway and Western Railway. Thirteen trains had to be cancelled while several were diverted on the Panvel, Pune, Miraj and Londa lines, while people were trans-shipped between Ratnagiri and Adavali stations. Special buses were deployed between the two stations to ferry passengers.

Konkan railway officials were unable to commit a time for normal resumption of service. "Train services are likely to run delayed inordinately. The restoration work can be completed only when rain subsides," said S Telugu, chief PRO of Konkan Railway.
