The Indian cricket team’s abysmal performance in the T20 World Cup has left many celebrities frustrated, and they aren’t mincing their words in expressing their disappointment. “Disaster World Cup campaign by India... time to come back home. Can’t believe what is happening in the game,” actor Arjun Rampal wrote on Twitter. “Depressing to see India’s batting display,” posted liquor baron Vijay Mallya.

Adding insult to injury was actress Shilpa Shetty, who posted, “Happy to know tht the Indian Womens team defeated Pakistan Women team by 9 wickets in Women T20WC:) after the men lost.” “Our cricket team looks tired, and not really motivated, 2 much IPL?” posted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. “So that’s it?! We’re out of the T20 World Cup??” wrote actor Ranvir Shorey.

The Bachchan clan, however, expressed support for the cricket team. While Amitabh wrote supportive words on his blog, Abhishek tweeted, “very disappointing loss for India. no problem!!! know one thing world. WE WILL BE BACK!!!! there’s always next year. well done boys.” While cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted saying, “Sad that v lost the game n out of the world cup,” tennis star Sania Mirza added, “When they are down, they need our support even more.”
