Overdoing Dalitism

india Updated: Dec 23, 2006 18:01 IST

It seems more than the politicians it is the media, which interested in keeping alive the bogus concept of “Dalitism”.
If after becoming the Chief Justice of Supreme Court a person continues to be a Dalit (whatever that means), then it means two things:
1) Every person in a lower occupation (irrespective of caste) can be called a Dalit
2) No matter how high a person rises, a Dalit will always remain a Dalit
We are opposed to any kind of categorisation of the Indian people and we request the media not to give legitimacy to political inventions such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, etc.
