PAC candidates create ruckus

THE PAC candidates created a ruckus in the university after taking a written test here on Sunday. They not only looted the banana vendors and teashops in front of the university but also manhandled some girls who were passing through the varsity gate When the photojournalist tried to intervene to provide shelters to the girls and their parents, the unruly applicants threatened them to destroy their cameras and motorcycles. No security arrangement was made out side the university gate.

However, chief proctor Rajendra Prasad Yadav was unaware of the facts when Hindustan Times contacted him on telephone. Yadav said DIG BB Bakshi and other police officials were with him in the meeting room and they have not such information. However, an eyewitness said that the applicants also teased the girls near Sant Kabir Hostel and near Students Union crossing. The mediapersons who were covering the incident were also target of the mob..

It was worthy to note that around 13,000 applicants have appeared the written test for final selection at DDU Gorakhpur University centre. The written examination was slated for 8.30 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Though proper security arrangement had been made in the premises but no force was deployed outside to handle the mob.

Moreover, heavy police force was deployed at the venue of backward workers conference of the SP where state party president Ram Sharan Das was delivering his views.
