The Border Security Forces (BSF) has claimed that Pakistan is involved in building bunkers and observation towers on the International Border (IB) with India.
Talking to reporters here — after the passing-out parade of 184 recruits of the India Reserve Battalion, Orissa — on Tuesday, BSF Assistant Director General (West) U.K. Bansal said: “In recent months, especially after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Pakistan has come up with bunkers, concrete bunkers and observation towers on the IB with India.”
“After we lodged a protest with the Pakistani Rangers on the construction of these concrete bunkers and observation towers, they stopped the process in some places but in other isolated places, they haven’t stopped the activity and construction is on,” he added.
“Our forces are ready to reply to any kind of situation,” Bansal said.
He went on to add: “The rate of infiltration on the IB is not alarming as very few cases of infiltration have been reported in the past few months, that too on the Line of Control. Our forces are equipped at par with international standards and there is no need to worry about militant threats.”
