Pakistan Rangers on Wednesday dismissed as baseless allegations that their troops had fired rockets on India on September 11.

Brigadier Shafaqat Nawaz Khan of Pakistan Rangers, while talking to reporters on Joint Check Post of Indo-Pak international border in Amritsar, said the reported rocket firing incident from Pakistan was "baseless" and alleged the Indian media had blown it out of proportion.

Khan was in Amritsar to receive a BSF delegation to escort them to Lahore for quarterly meeting.

The senior Pakistani official alleged that on September 13, the BSF had fired from across the border towards Pakistan's territory on the "pretext" that it was retaliatory action, whereas no such rockets were fired from Pakistan.
