Pakistan on Saturday rejected a claim by India that it had killed a Pakistani army officer in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it "ridiculous" as the man in question was still alive.

"It is a ridiculous claim and we categorically dismiss it," army's chief spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan said.

India, however, on Friday denied that any Pakistani armyman was killed near the Line of Control.
