In another instance of continuous violation of the 2003 cease-fire agreement, Pakistan fired along the Line-of-Control in the Nowshera sector, district Rajouri, about 150-km from Jammu.
According to the sources, Pakistan army fired at the Pokhra post of the India in Kalal sub-sector. The Indian army fired back and both sides reportedly fired about 160-rounds. The firing started late last night and continued for some time.
Though, there has not been any official confirmation, some reports suggest that the firing was done by the Pakistan to facilitate infiltration. The army had foiled a major infiltration bid of three-to-four terrorists in the Poonch sector on Thursday. A top terrorists was killed by the Army in Poonch on Sunday by foiling another infiltration bid.
The reports suggest there was no loss of any kind. The latest incident of firing happened when Eid is being celebrated across the Jammu and Kashmir, which is the only muslim majority state in the country. The firing started hours after PM left the Jammu on Friday afternoon, where he didn’t make any mention of either the firing or the Pakistan.
