A top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant from Pakistan has been arrested in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Security forces nabbed Abu Muaviyah, a resident of Pakistan, from the house of a sarpanch in Chooru area of Sopore late last night, a police official said on Friday.

He said a cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the possession of the arrested militant.

The arrest comes close on the heels of killing of six militants in two encounters in Sopore and Shopian district over the past two days.

While five militants were killed in Keller area of Shopian yesterday, a LeT militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore town a day earlier.
