Pakistani troops fire again at RS Pura border
Pakistan troops resorted to firing again for the second consecutive day today at the Abdullian border-out-post in the RS Pura sector, about 40 km from in Jammu.
Pakistan troops resorted to firing again for the second consecutive day on Friday at the Abdullian border-out-post in the RS Pura sector, about 40 km from in Jammu.
A BSF jawan, Chander Narayan, was killed in a similar firing late Thursday evening. Pakistan troops have been resorting to firing along international border in the Jammu region since Aug 15.
"Pakistan started firing at the Abdullian BoP at 7am today which continued for about half-an-hour. It used automatic rifles and also small bombs. BSF troopers also returned firing," said IG BSF Rajeev Krishna.
He said it was not easy to ascertain the reason behind the spurt and continuous firing from across the border but didn't rule out the possibility that detection of their secret tunnel could have triggered it.
"Digging tunnel was a well-planned operation of Pakistan to push infiltrators. But as it was detected and the plan was exposed. It could have triggered this firing," said the IG.
The 300-mt secret tunnel was detected on Aug 9 in the Hiranagar sector along IB. There has been continuous intermittent firing from across the border since then.
