Palanpure ton puts Indore on top

ANKUR PALANPURE brilliant unbeaten 104 and 69 run last wicket partnership with Vikas Ravaliya helped host Indore division to pile up huge total of 413 in their first innings in reply Sagar Division were struggling at 207/6 at the end of second days play in U-19 cricket tournament finals for Gaikwad Trophy being played at Usha Raje Cricket grounds on Thursday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 332/7, Indore division tail enders waged their tail to cross 400 plus. It was the day of Ankur Palanpure who began his innings from 59 along with Amit Joshi (13).

At the score of 349, Indore lost Joshi who scored useful 24 with three boundaries. The next batsmen Devanand Chourasia returned to pavallion before opening his account and the board read 349/9.

Ankur’s ton included 12 hits to the fence. Vikas showed his class to score patience 21 in 74 balls with two boundaries. At the score of 413, Indore lost all the wickets to sit in the commanding position. Pankaj Rao, Rameez Khan captured three wickets for 82 and 68 while Vishal Kushwah and Harpreet Singh captured two wickets each for 93 and 61 runs respectively.

Chasing a total of 414 for the first innings lead, Sagar lost their first wicket at the score of five. Manoj Singh and Harpreet showed their class and started punishing Indore bowlers mercilessly.

At the score of 110, Manoj was back in the pavilion was out in a mix up with Harpreet at his individual score of 38 scored with the help of five boundaries.

Meanwhile Harpreet completed his half century in 82 balls with seven boundaries. Manoj and Harpreet added 105 runs for the second wicket partnership.

Harpreet was back in the dressing room after scoring brilliant 60 with eight boundaries. At the end of second day Sagar division was struggling at 207/6. Rameez Khan going strong at 46 with 10 boundaries.

Rohan Shrivatsav after batting brilliantly on the first day showed his class in ball by capturing three wickets for 56 runs. Brief score: Indore division I innings: 413/10 and Sagar division I innings 207/6
