Panel set up for land utilisation project

STATE GOVERNMENT has constituted a project steering committee for approval of work plan and issuance of guidelines for implementation of project development phase of integrated land utilisation management project in Madhya Pradesh with assistance to be received under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

STATE GOVERNMENT has constituted a project steering committee for approval of work plan and issuance of guidelines for implementation of project development phase of integrated land utilisation management project in Madhya Pradesh with assistance to be received under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The State has to receive this assistance under the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). The project steering committee to be headed by the Principal Secretary, Forests, will include Chief Conservator of Forests, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Laghu Vanopaj Sangh, Principal Secretaries of Tribal Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Finance and Rural Development Departments as members.

Other members of the committee include Managing Director, MP Energy Development Corporation, Additional Secretary, Forests; Project Director, two representatives of non-Government organisations, representative of Grass Research Institute, Jhansi and a representative nominated by the UNDP.

The project manager will also be a member of the proposed committee.
