Panic grips Jammu railway station after recovery of ammunition

Panic gripped a railway station in Jammu when police recovered an unclaimed bag containing five magazines of Insas rifle and some pouches, police said.

Panic gripped a railway station in Jammu when police recovered an unclaimed bag containing five magazines of Insas rifle and some pouches, police said.

During routine checking on the railway station here late last night, police recovered an unclaimed bag laying near plateform number 1, they said, adding five magazines of the Insas rifle with some pouches were recovered from the bag triggering panic at the station.

After preliminary investigation, it was found that the bag belonged to Sepoy Manpreet Singh of 12 Sikh rifles and was later handed over to an officer at Transit Camp.
