Paradise regained

There were days when Sunny would laugh, eat, weep and sleep peacefully. All normal signs in a normal human being. It seemed he was very well contended with the way his life was going on.

And then suddenly, there came a phase when he had to face a lot of problems – not once, not twice but serially one after another. He found himself exhausted, confused and devastated. Then came a period when everything calmed down after the tempest.

Though his loss was unbearable, still he had the courage to drive the wheel of life. But unfortunately, Sunny lost something more in the tempest. What was it? He did not know really; all he knew was that the ‘loss’ had caused a sort of emptiness in him.

He tried quite hard to search for what he had lost, in the crowd and within himself but to no avail.

He feared that his brain was aging fast and might be even suffering from Alzheimer’s. He consulted his near and dear ones and depended on them for decisions. Sometimes he did the right thing and sometimes he went wrong. And he was at a loss most of the time. He lost faith in himself and could not decide on things calmly and happily.

Before exploring into anything new, he would tremble. He was in need of consolation continuously. And that made him sad and he was not contended with his life as he used to be once.

He felt that he had lost something and never got it back; and harder to accept was the fact that he did not know about the loss that had created a vacuum in him. And then the day came when he said, “I give up” and closed his eyes. After an hour, he saw Him, with wide eyes looking fixedly at him.

Sunny got the answer. He found what he had lost --- Belief in self! And that was the beginning of good days of his life yet again.
