The pressure to make it to a good college is extremely high, which makes the going toughindia Updated: May 27, 2011 12:31 IST
St. Thomas’ School
I am an artist, a traveller, an explorer and an avid reader. I am not the studious kind; in fact, I hated textbooks till Class 10. But it was only after I was introduced to psychology and sociology in class 11, that my perception towards studies changed.
I thought life post the boards would be about spending time with friends and discovering the city. I have a keen interest in monuments and wanted to use these holidays exploring the ruins of the ‘Delhi sultanate’, but much to my dismay my parents wanted me to join coaching. Though reluctant, I agreed to join (Can you really have a way with parents?). The experience was um... different. There were no rules binding you, which was a positive change, but the protective shield of friends and faculty was missing, which made it a little hard.
We all are making our own efforts to get admission in our favourite college. Delhi University has always fascinated me, all that media coverage on cut-offs, heat and of course DU fashion get me on a high! I can’t believe my time has come and I’ll be one of the many vying for a seat in the University!
