The UP Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has launched hunt for four persons who have been issued passport on fake address by the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Lucknow.

On Wednesday ATS had registered FIR against Rais Ahmed, Mohammad Bahauddin, Mohammad Chand and Ugrah Singh on the charge of getting passport on fake address. During investigation the ATS sleuths found that not only the address was fake even the persons to whom pass was issued do not exist. Then who is using these passports and where they have travelled?

While address of Rais Ahmed is mentioned as Bazar Khala, that of Bahauddin at Wazirganj, address of Mohammad Chand and Ugrah is Qaiserbagh.

The ADG (ATS), AK Jain on Thursday said we are trying to locate the persons who received the passports. "The employees of the local intelligence unit and passport office are being grilled. The officers of the Regional Passport Office and Local Intelligence Unit who were posted in 2005-06 when passport was issued to Pakistani spy Syed Aamir Ali would be also interrogated", he said.

After unearthing the passport racket the state police department has amended the procedure for the collection of the documents at the Regional Passport Office and Local Intelligence Unit (LIU). "The LIU personnels would make entry on the register at RPO mentioning their name and rank. Even on the intelligence and police report the concerned officer would have mention his name and rank", Jain said.

The district administration officers have been directed to follow the rules regarding passport strictly. "The officers should have knowledge of the procedure to check the malpractice. If any laxity was detected strict action would be taken against erring officer", Jain said.

"If a passport applicant was harassed by the employees of passport, intelligence and police department he should immediately lodge complaint and we would trap the mole in these departments", Jain said.
