Global IT and BPO services provider Patni Computer Systems on Monday announced the opening of its new delivery centre in Queretaro, Mexico, to strengthen its delivery capabilities in Northern and Latin America.
The company will have an initial seating capacity of about 100 full-time workers, which will be gradually expanded to about 300, with the bulk of the jobs being filled with local workers, Patni said in a statement.
The centre would offer services and solutions covering IT consulting, software development outsourcing, contact centre
operations and BPO. It has 21 other centres across the globe.
"This is part of our expansion strategy – to roll out a follow-the-sun model that serves regional markets and gives us
more flexibility in utilising global talent," Patni Computer Systems Chief Executive Officer Jeya Kumar said.
The solutions would be provided to customers in the financial services, manufacturing, life sciences, communications, and media and entertainment sectors, it said.
The location will offer Patni preferential access to customers in North and South America and within Mexico.
"We are seeing increased demand from our client base for near-shore resources. Our investment in Mexico allows us to
deliver on these demands, and it will generate jobs and economic momentum for a growing region," Kumar said.
