Pawar elected MCA chief

Sharad Pawar has been elected unopposed as President of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the fourth term.

Sharad Pawar has been elected unopposed as President of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the fourth term.

At the conclusion of filing of nominations in MUmbai on Wednesday, Pawar had no other rival to contest against at the biennial election scheduled for June 6.

Also elected unopposed alongwith the BCCI chief was the board's Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty as the association's joint secretary, according MCA sources.

But there will be a contest for two vice presidents' posts in which chief national selector and sitting vice president Dilip Vengasarkar is a candidate.
