PCB changes Australia’s hotel after security concerns

The Pakistan Cricket Board had to change the hotel booked for Ricky Ponting and his men’s stay in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the ODI series later his month following security issues raised by the Australians.PCB sources told PTI that Zakir Khan, who heads Board’s International Cricket Operations and is in Dubai making arrangements for the coming series, was told by the Australians that they were not satisfied with the hotel chosen for their team.

“The board had booked the Marriot hotel for both teams but now another hotel has been chosen for the Australians who reach Dubai on the 18th straight from South Africa,” one source said.Security has been a key issue with the Australians since Pakistan agreed to shift the series of five one-day games and a Twenty20 International to the emirate states due to security concerns expressed by the Australians about playing in Pakistan.
