Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Pawan Raina has disassociated himself from the alleged reports in which it was claimed that a meeting of the Congress leaders was held, urging PCC president Saifuddin Soz to take moral responsibility for the recent election results.

Raina has taken strong exception to the reports in which his name was mentioned among the participants attending the meeting claimed to have been chaired by PCC vice-president Janak Raj Gupta.

He denied having knowledge of any such meet or attending it. He said that he does not believe in any sort of factionalism and those indulging in such acts are harming the party's interests.

He asked his colleagues not to issue any statements on his behalf without any authorisation.
Raina appealed to the party workers to come forward with new ideas to strengthen the party.

On Monday, it was reported in a section of media that the PCC leaders had flashed a communication to All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi seeking resignation of the PCC president on moral grounds after party's failure in the recently-held assembly elections in J&K.
