The People's Democratic Party (PDP) received a shot in the arm when 13 sarpanches belonging to the National Conference (NC) and the Congress from the Nowshera assembly segment joined it in the presence of party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Besides sarpanches, a large number of prominent leaders of the Congress and the NC also joined the PDP.
Welcoming those who joined the PDP, Mufti said that joining of such a large number of sarpanches from the Nowshera area is a clear indication that the PDP is going to create history in the assembly elections.

He said that with every passing day acceptability of the PDP is growing among different sections of the society.

Seeking decisive mandate of the people to change political discourse of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti assured the people that the PDP would present a vision document to address wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the state.

Surinder Choudhary, PDP candidate for Nowshera assembly segment, said that people were anxiously waiting for the elections to teach lesson to those who are responsible for their miseries.

Choudhary said that gone are the days when political parties used to hoodwink the gullible masses by propagating divisive politics.

"Now the people want development and progress and the PDP is committed to implement developmental agenda in J&K", he said.
