The legislative Council on Wednesday witnessed noisy start to its proceedings as the minister for public health engineering (PHE), irrigation and flood control, Sham Lal Sharma, on behalf of the health minister concerned, rose to respond to the first question raised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member of legislative Council (MLC) Mohammad Ashraf Mir, who sought answer to the healthcare provided to the valley people.
Expressing his dissatisfaction to the answers over the number of existing primary health centres (PHCs), sub-centres, and sub-district hospitals in the valley, besides non existence of diagnostic centres, doctors, X ray machines in the centres Mir said that the health infrastructure of the valley was not being given credence.
While Mir kept the house disturbed over the issue, another PDP MLC Nayeem Akhtar too stood up from his chair, reminding the chairman about the demand made by the party on Tuesday, for assurance from the chair and the government, over the issue of formation of the administrative units.
"While we are not being provided answers to any of our questions, the best way left with us is to approach the governor house to seek justice ," said Nayeem Akhtar while, walking out of the House .
He was accompanied by Mir, 19 minutes after the house was set in motion.
