MP high court on Monday disposed of the state government’s applications in view of the Apex court order of November 28 last that empowered the SIT to supervise entire 55 cases being investigated by the STF in MPPEB medical admission and recruitments scam.
The State government filed the applications for certain amendment into the high court order of November 5 last issued on a bunch of petitions filed by the Congress leaders including Digvijay Singh.
The State applications sought amendments on certain issues including the transport inspector’s case which was not monitored by the high court as mentioned in the court order of November 5.
Advocate Arpit Tiwari appeared for Digvijay Singh in the high court today said the Apex Court had ordered the special investigation team (SIT) will supervise entire 55 cases being investigated by the special task force (STF). While there was limited scope of supervision for SIT into cases investigated by STF as per the high court order, he said.
The Apex court also directed the STF to file challan in all the cases being investigated by March 15 next, he said.
The SIT is appointed by the high court and the three member team is headed by the retired high court judge.
The state government counsel did not press for the applications for amendment into the order in view of the apex court order.
