Enjoy this pleasant weather and explore the city as well by cycling your way around. With the demand for such tours increasing by the day, city-based cycling clubs are planning special tours that make it a perfect experience for a day out with friends.

Pedal Yatris, Gurgaon
The cycle enthusiasts of the cyber city Gurgaon can enjoy a cycle with this group that has more than 200 members now. Formed in 2008, the group explores many unknown parts of the city on two wheels. “In our quest to look for an adventurous way to exercise, we started cycling together on the Mehrauli Gurgaon Road on weekends. Sometimes we would go up to Qutab Minar and Jawaharlal Nehru University,” says Jasbir Singh, the founder of the group. On the weekends they trail through villages and forests to places like Mangar Ashram, Dum Duma Lake through the Bandwari village and Baba Balakdas Ashram, which is one of the steepest climbs around town. “We ride everyday but the rides on a working day are for about 20 to 25 kilometer,” says Anand Sinha, a regular cyclist.

Delhi cycle tours
The cycling lovers of the Capital can opt from two cycling clubs — Delhi Bycycle and the Delhi Cycling Club. Both the groups organise cycling tours around the city. Delhi Bycyle organises three-hour long cycle tours everyday. The most popular tour of the group is the Raj Tour, that takes you around the central Delhi area and covers places such as Connaught Place, India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhawan. “Our tours are basically for cycle enthusiasts who love to explore the city and this weather is ideal for it,” says Stasa of the organisation.

On the other hand, the Delhi Cycling Club aims at promoting cycle as a daily mode of transport, and making Delhi a greener city. The tours are held on weekends. The best part being that they are free of cost. “The idea is to promote cycling among the people in the city along with some fun,” says Nalin Sinha, a member of the group.
