Highlight Story

TAKING SERIOUS note of the ADA Enforcement Squad’s failure in checking illegal construction of houses in the city, Allahabad Development Authority vice-chairman Rajaram Upadhyay has shifted nearly two dozen assistant and junior engineers from the Squad to different zones.

Squad in-charge and assistant engineer RP Singh has been removed and AE Subodh Kumar Arora takes over from him. Besides, several engineers and junior engineers have been shifted from one department to another with immediate effect.

Sources said that the vice-chairman seems to be very upset with Allahabad Development Authority’s inaction towards unabated illegal constructions of houses in the city.

To recall, the squad had been constituted few years ago to check illegal constructions in the city.

However, the squad had failed to achieve its purpose.

Ironically, the Allahabad Develoment Authority vice-chairman has received several complaints that despite sealing of houses by ADA itself, constructions were in progress in various parts of the city.

The Vice-Chairman issued strict warnings to the squad but no improvement has taken place in its functioning.

While Arora, being the Squad incharge will look after illegal construction and disposing of housing maps in Zone 3, RP Singh will handle Zones 5, 6 and 7 and Manoj Upadhyay Zone 2.
