Pepsi mulls legal action against Kerala ban
The cola giant plans to move HC next week against Govt's decision to ban manufacture and sale of the company's products in the state.
Cola giant Pepsico is planning to move the Kerala High Court next week against the LDF government's decision to ban manufacture and sale of the company's products in the state.
When contacted, a company spokesperson said: "We have not yet received the Kerala government order. Once we receive it, we will take legal recourse".
The spokesperson, however, declined to divulge more details.
While the Kerala government slapped a blanket ban on Pepsi and Coca Cola, other states like Karnataka, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have barred sale of these two companies' products in educational and government institutions, besides hospitals.
The action by these states came after NGO Centre for Science and Environment unveiled a report, claiming that 11 products of these two companies contained pesticide residues much above the permissible level.
