UNIDENTIFIED ASSAILANTS murdered a petrol pump employee by slitting his throat late on Sunday night. According to the police, the deceased Sridhar Dwivedi (25) a native of Rewa and was living at Nehru Nagar, worked at the Satyam petrol pump at Lalghati.

A customer who came for refuelling at the  pump  around  midnight saw Sridhar’s body lying in a pool of blood. After the customer informed the police about the incident,  a team from the Koh-e-Fiza police station and top police officials including the SP rushed to the spot. Forensic experts also arrived at the petrol pump for investigations.

The police found Rs 1,100 in the deceased’s pocket besides the keys to the petrol pump’s safe. On that basis, police denied the possibility of robbery being the motive behind the murder. Authorities are now investigating on the lines of the deceased’s enmity with someone as being the reason for the crime.

The police said the deceased earlier worked at  a pump at M P Nagar and during that job he had a fight with a customer. That matter was still pending in court and a warrant had been issued against the deceased recently for remaining absent from court hearings. He had even spent a couple of days in jail as a result of the warrant, police said. A case of murder has been registered and the police have launched further investigations into the matter.
