Petrol pump owner shot dead, Rs 5 lakh looted

Miscreants today snatched a bag containing rupees five lakh from a petrol pump owner and then shot at him killing him on the spot at Korma village in Nalanda district, a police official said.

Miscreants on Monday snatched a bag containing rupees five lakh from a petrol pump owner and then shot at him killing him on the spot at Korma village in Nalanda district, a police official said.

The victim, identified as Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, owner of Shree Lakshmi petrol pump, was riding a motorcyle alongwith an employee to deposit rupees five lakh in a nearby bank when three motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted him and shot at him from close range killing him on the spot, Superintendent of police (SP) Vijrendra Rana said.

The assailants also snatched a bag containing rupees five lakh from the victim and sped away, he said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the cuplrits, he said.
