The 3rd edition of Haryana philatelic exhibition Harpex ‘Parindey 2012’ will be held in the city from February 21-23 at Apparel House in Sector 44. Over 100 philatelists within the state and outside are participating in the exhibition.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by chief election commissioner SY Quraishi.

Gurgaon deputy commissioner PC Meena will also attend the opening ceremony.

A spokesman of the district administration said on Monday that over 400 children from schools in NCR towns will also be participating. Rare stamps issued by India and other countries will be on display.

School students will showcase their rare collection of stamps in the competition category. The subjects of ‘Design a Stamp Contest’ will be different for each class.

A unique feature of the event will be ‘My Stamp’ counter where participants can get their own pictures printed as a stamp. A spokesman said, “My Stamp is an innovative facility, which is being made available for the first time in Gurgaon. One can get their own photograph printed on various templates and use it as an official stamp.”
