A guide to buying a lamp just right for you
The right pick: Lamps are always a good investment as they give a lot of character and add on to the glam quotient of your home or office spaces. But one has to carefully choose a lamp according to the space of your room. If the correct type of lamp is not chosen, or is placed in the wrong corner, it will only make the space look disorganised.
Room-wise: For drawing rooms one should go for traditional table lamps that give a rich look with warm lighting. For bedrooms, reading lamps are recommended as they are soothing, have dim calming lights, and are a necessity for reading. Plus they look great on your bedside. For kid’s room, low height lamps are recommended. You can also go for ones with bright coloured prints as they always pep up the kid’s zone.
Coordinate well: An uplighter or a lamp to create a soft glow is always a great device to brighten up your room’s dull corners. Use lamp shades in rich colours and them coordinate with your upholstery. For a quick makeover, you can simply change the shade of your lamp.
Shade shapes: All shades do not suit all kinds of lamps. For example, a conical shape shade will looks nice with a lamp with a heavy base.
