The Da Vinci Code: Dan Brown
An unusual book with a heady mix of religion and a murder mystery. Being a keen follower of various religions and also an ardent fan of crime thrillers, I found this book to be a real page-turner and simply ‘unputdownable’.
The Alchemist: Paulo Coelho
A simple story of a Spanish shepherd boy who sets out into the deserts of Egypt to pursue his dreams. It became one of the most inspirational books. It contains my favourite quote — “When you really want something to happen, the whole world conspires to help you achieve it”.
Many Lives, Many Masters: Dr Brian Weiss
The book’s description of the survival of the soul after death and its subsequent journey and reincarnation makes me label this book the ‘Modern Bhagavad Gita’. No other book has touched my mind and soul as this has in recent times.
Papillon: Henri Charrière
I read this autobiography of convicted felon and fugitive Henri Charrière while I was in high school. As a school kid, Henri’s journey from the hardships of a prison to the comforts of Venezuela made me believe that hard work, dedication and sincerity could move mountains.
The Godfather: Mario Puzo
This book is a fictitious story of a Sicilian mafia family based in USA. The book makes us experience the kind of emotions that we do not generally associate with a mafia family. The protagonist Vito’s statement, “I am going to make an offer he can’t refuse,” became the quote of the century.

Tere mere sapne ab ek rang hai: Guide
This is one of my favourite Hindi songs. In this song, singer Mohammed Rafi sahib’s voice picturises a deep romance between the lead actors Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman.
Ye kya hua, kab hua, kaise hua: Amar Prem
Sung by Kishore Kumar, it was as though the voice was actually that of the character played by actor Rajesh Khanna. Kishore da sung it is such a way that it was as though the pain experienced by character in the film was felt and experienced by him.
O sajana bharka bahar aai: Parakh
The music of this song is given by Salil Chowdhary. In this song, Lata Mangeshkar sings in so many harakats (a type of musical note) that it is almost impossible for any singer to render it like her. In fact, right after recording the song, Salil da said that Lataji
is a dream singer for any composer.
Rimjhim gire sawaan, sulag jaaye mann: Manzil
In this song, the simplicity of Amitabh Bachchan’s character was portrayed by Kishore Kumar extremely well through his innocent singing. In fact, Kishore da’s pitch was more than perfect.
Meri maa: Taare Zameen Par
This song sung by Shankar Mahadevan really brings tears to the eyes of those who listen to it. It is sung beautifully with deep emotions.

Manchester United Café Bar Lower Parel This is clearly one of the best sports bars in Mumbai. The ambience is as exciting as the music and the food, and the drinks are excellent. It’s definitely the best place to unwind after a long day.
Royal China Fort
This is a great place for delicious Chinese food. The Peking Duck served here is definitely worth a try, as are the dimsums. This restaurant is one of my favourites in the city.
Gajalee Vile Parle
This place has always lived up to my expectations with their specialty coastal seafood in authentic preparations. The bombil fry and the tandoori crab offered at this restaurant are my personal favourites.
I really enjoy the dimsums and extensive range of teas at Yauatcha. Also, the ambience is nice and contemporary. It is one of my favourite restaurants.
Olive Bar and Kitchen Bandra
This is a classy place which offers great service. The Thursday bar nights are a highlight here and I have always enjoyed the food and drinks offered at this restaurant.

Watch Pariva Pranati, actor
Harry Potter series 2001
I can watch this series an endless number of times. The magical world the film pictures and the way each frame is shot takes me to a different world altogether. I feel really happy in that magical world. The series also has some amazing
The Lord of the Rings series 2001
Again a series that’s amazingly made and has a beautiful story. Made in three parts, there is something to look forward to when each part ends. And by the end of third part, you want to go through this journey again. The film also has an amazing sound track which flows with the movie.
Sex and the City 2008
It is a film for the ladies and a movie that I love to watch alone so I can enjoy my own company. I love it because the story is from a woman’s point of view. I also love the soundtrack of the film.
Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! 2008
When I want to laugh or just watch a movie that will make me smile, I watch this film. It is a well-made subtle comedy film which has
brilliant performances and outstanding direction. The story is so complete and the music is awesome.
Dil Chahta Hai 2001 The way this film depicted friendship and relationships was amazing. The casting was superb and so was its story and the songs. A new age picturisation which highlighted what people really go through in relationships.
