‘I just couldn’t stop reading People Who Eat Darkness’
Read: Sonia Faleiro, Author, Beautiful Thing

Random Family Adrian Nicole LeBlanc
I couldn’t have written my book, Beautiful Thing, if Adrian Nicole LeBlanc hadn’t written Random Family, the heartbreaking non-fiction narrative of the struggle to survive poverty in the Bronx. Her commitment and the beauty of her prose continue to inspire me.

Poor Economics Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo
In 2011, India spent two per cent of its Gross Domestic Product on poverty prevention. But India’s poverty policies don’t appear to be working. The award-winning Poor Economics by Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo explains why.

Nothing to Envy Barbara Demick
Barbara Demick’s Nothing to Envy is the account of life in the world’s most secretive country, North Korea. Demick’s journalism is a jaw dropping reading experience.

Factory Girls Leslie T Chang
My favourite China book, Leslie Chang’s poignant Factory Girls explores the largest human migration in history — from rural to urban China.

People Who Eat Darkness Richard Lloyd Parry
Richard Lloyd Parry’s People Who Eat Darkness is the chilling investigation into the murder of a young British Airways flight attendant in Tokyo. I just couldn’t stop reading the book.

‘Bad is still the all-time number one album for us’
Listen: Rhythm Dhol Bass, UK Band

Bad Michael Jackson
This song and album was one of the first musical albums we ever bought and heard. It is probably still the all-time number one album in our eyes.

Yaara dhe si yaar
Heera Group This was the first bhangra album we purchased. It is one of our favourites and brings back our childhood memories.

Gin & Juice Snoop Dogg
It is the second single from Snoop Dogg’s debut album Doggystyle. It is hip-hop at its best form. Snoop Dogg is a talented artist in the true sense.

Yeh dosti Sholay
This song epitomises the unity of brothers and friends and is representative of the bond the RDB brothers share and the bond RDB shares with its friends — our worldwide well-wishers, fans and supporters. A must download track for friendship day.

Smooth criminal Michael Jackson
We grew up listening to Michael Jackson from a very young age and Smooth Criminal was Kuly’s all-time favourite track. He loved the beat so much that he actually
replicated it in one of his tracks.

‘The brunch at China 1 is worth the money spent’
Eat: Zubin D’Souza, Executive chef, Waterstones Hotel & Club

Bhojohori Manna Andheri
This restaurant does not waste time with fancy décor or stylish objects of art, but gets their basics on traditional Bengali food just right. The restaurant also does a rather impressive khejur gurer ice cream, which
is flavoured with the absolutely sensual date palm sugar.

China 1 Andheri
The food at China 1 is fantastic, the service attentive and the brunch is worth the money spent.

New Martin Colaba
The restaurant serves as a refuge for those craving for authentic Goan food in Mumbai. Expect to be seated next to strangers who share the love of good food with you.

Pizza by the Bay Churchgate
You can travel all the way to town just for the entire Marine Drive view and the pizzas served here. The long line outside the restaurant only seems to enhance the expectations, which this restaurant never fails to satiate.

Ideal Corner Fort
This place is famous for serving some really nice Parsi food. The food quality is consistent and you can always wash it down with ice cream soda or raspberry and talk about the good old days.

‘Forrest Gump has the best depiction of American history’
Watch: Arjan Bajwa, Film actor

Forrest Gump 1994
This film has one of the best depictions of American history spread over several decades. Actor Tom Hanks’ award winning performance in this film is one of the best ever.

The Bourne Identity 2002
All the parts of this series set a new standard in the thriller and action genre. Matt Damon’s character is in a way invincible, wading through any situation with utmost ease. It is definitely an encouraging performance and role for any actor looking to work in the action film space.

The Departed 2006
Hollywood's best talents come together in this film along with an amazing performance by my favourite actor Leonardo Di Caprio. The best part is that a super successful director of the 1970's, Martin Scorsese, still makes such an impact with this film, making his craft timeless.

Heat 1995
Two Hollywood legends Al Pacina and Robert De Niro come together, making a lethal combo and giving us a film from which becomes a library of dialogues and scenes for other directors till date. Heat is surely one of the best films about two people on either side of the law.

Shool 1999
Even though I’m a fan of all the films of Manoj Bajpayee, I consider this performance of his as the best till date. Not to forget the
menacing act by actor Sayaji Shinde. Shool is a favourite and has been directed fantastically by E. Nivas.
