india Updated: Aug 29, 2008 19:03 IST

Thousands of Hindu devotes from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are expected to visit Stambheshwar Mahadev temple at Kavi-Kamboi, 85 km from Vadodra, on Saturday to mark the last day of the Shravana month.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the occasion, temple employee Vidyanandji Maharaj said.

"The temple is an important centre of pilgrimage for Shiva devotees," the Maharaj said. "The Shivling can be viewed only during low tide."The place is mentioned in 'Skandmahapuran.' Legend says after killing Tarakasur, Skandkumar had built a Shivlinga at the temple site.
