Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday called on the bereaved family of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan to offer his condolences.

Singh visited Mahajan's family at Poorna building in Worli on Saturday afternoon and offered his condolences to Rekha, wife of the late BJP General Secretary, his son Rahul and brother-in-law and party leader Gopinath Munde.

Mahajan succumbed to bullet injuries on May 3 at Hinduja Hospital where he was admitted after being shot at by his brother Pravin on April 22.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, accompanied by his wife Gursharan Kaur, placed a white flower in front of Mahajan's portrait and met his family members for around 15 minutes. Singh turned emotional while paying tributes to Mahajan, BJP leader Vinod Tawade said.
