PM monitoring Nandigram situation, speaks to Buddha

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is monitoring the situation in the area and has spoken to Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

The Prime Minister was also in touch with Home Minister Shivraj Patil on the situation in the troubled area, a PMO spokesperson said tonight.

The Centre will be sending Central Reserve Police Force units to Nandigram, he said, adding "the Prime Minister is monitoring the situation and has also spoken to the Chief Minister of West Bengal".
