Former media advisor to the Prime Minister, Harish Khare, was robbed of cash and a wrist watch on Friday evening when he had gone out for a walk near his residence in North Delhi's Civil Lines area.

Khare told police that around 7.30 pm, two men stopped him in the ridge area and robbed him of his cash and wrist watch.

"When he tried to resist, the robbers assaulted him. They took away his wrist watch and R3,000 cash," a senior police officer said.

Khare made a call to the police control room and a case has been registered at the Civil Lines police station.

Deputy commissioner of police (north), Sindhu Pillai said, "A case has been registered and we are investigating the matter further. The robbers will soon be apprehended."
