PMC extends support to Congress government

Puduchery Munnetra Congress, a splinter group of Congress, has decided to support the territorial government.

The party conveyed the decision to Chief Minister Vaithilingam, PMC legislature party leader K Lakshminarayanan
told PTI here on saturday.

PMC has three legislators in the 30 member territorial Assembly.

Vaithilingam had earlier sent a letter to PMC founder leader and former Home Minister P Kannan seeking support of
the party to the government, Lakshminarayanan said.

He said that he would meet Lt Governor Iqubal Singh to submit the letter pledging support to the Congress government.

The strength of ruling Congress is 10, while its all DMK has seven members. Three independents also supported the
government.

The opposition AIADMK has three members while its partners PMK has two, CPI and MDMK one each.

PMC had extended support to Congress in the Lok Sabha polls.
