PMs of India, Pak should have direct talks on Kashmir: JKNPP

Seeking the direct involvement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for a solution to the Kashmir issue, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today urged him to engage his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in a dialogue on the vexed matter.

Seeking the direct involvement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for a solution to the Kashmir issue, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party on Monday urged him to engage his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in a dialogue on the vexed matter.

"We urge the PM to initiate serious direct and talks with Pakistan PM to find a solution to the complicated Kashmir problem", JKNPP chairman Bhim Singh told reporters.

He said under the Shimla agreement, signed between the two countries in 1972, India and Pakistan had agreed to continue the talks at the level of heads of the states till final settlement of the issue.
