PoK guests arrive India in Karvan-e-Aman bus

46 Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) residents were among 96 people who crossed sides across the Line of Control (LoC) at Kaman post, the last Indian military post, on this side of the border in Uri sector in north Kashmir, official sources said today.

of Control (LoC) at Kaman post, the last Indian military post, on this side of the border in Uri sector in north Kashmir, official sources said today.




The sources said 46 PoK guests, including 16 women and 10 children, arrived at the Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, on foot yesterday to meet their relatives separated in 1947.



They said only one Kashmiri, who had crossed over to other side also returned to his home after meeting his relatives in PoK.



Six residents of the Kashmir valley, including a woman and two children, also crossed over to meet their relatives, separated during the partition.



They said 43 PoK residents, including 16 women and 11 children, who had come here in the Karvan-e-Aman buses operating between Srinagar and Muzaffar since April 7, 2005 also returned to their homes.



The bus service had helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 to meet each other.
