Police had a shoot out with a group of alleged Naxalites near Shivaghat in Dhanora taluka of Gadchiroli district early on Saturday morning.

Police said that naxals opened fire on the police party, and at least one naxal might have been seriously injured in the retaliation. All of them managed to escape, though.

Police fired 90 rounds in the encounter that lasted for about 30 to 40 minutes.

Police later recovered 20 rounds of SLR, five detonators, 100 ft wire, six bags and some printed material from the spot.
