Two days after the bodies of two friends were recovered from a drain in Gautam Budh Nagar district, police are yet to arrest the prime accused in the case.

The decomposed bodies of Rajesh Kumar, vice-chairman of Oxford Green Public School at Sirsa in Greater Noida, and his friend Ram Kishore, who went missing on Sunday, were found in the Dadri area on Tuesday.

According to the police, Tikam Singh, the main accused in the case, is a distant relative of Rajesh. “We have detained some persons for questioning. We hope to arrest the accused soon,” said Naresh Kumar Singh, SHO, Surajpur police station.

The police suspect that Tikam had hired killers for the kidnapping and murder.

A murder case has been registered against Tikam Singh and his two sons.

Meanwhile, Rajesh’s family is still in shock. “Tikam had borrowed Rs3 crore from us. There was a heated argument between

Tikam and Rajesh over the money a fortnight ago, but we had never thought that Tikam could plan to kill my brother,” said Rakesh Kumar, brother of Rajesh.
