An employee of the Military Engineering Service(MES) at Ferozepur had been charged of working for Pakistan's secret service (ISI) and nabbed by Ferozepur police while three sensitive maps and Army documents had been recovered from him.
As per information, Churah Singh was an employee in the MES and had been stationed at Ferozepur. Ferozepur Cantonment SHO Jaswant Singh received a tip off that he was allegedly working on behest of ISI and had been leaking Army secrets, locations of its units, Army activities and ammunition depot through mobiles or other means of communication to ISI.
Following which, a police party raided and arrested him with three maps of Punjab and Rajasthan border, three Army related books and a mobile phone, acknowledged Ferozepur SSP Surjit Singh while talking to Hindustan Times.
Accused is booked under section 3/9 of the Official Secret Act 1923 and would be sent to Joint Interrogation Centre, Amritsar.
Earlier, in August 2010, a Pak National later identified as Raja Ullah (24) son of Abdullah of Chowk Alam in the district Lahia in Punjab, Pakistan who was residing in India as Rakesh Kumar and set a firm Asian Group and was dealing in the Herbal medicines, was too held by local police.
He too had links with ISI and managed Indian Driving License, PAN card, Voter Card and even passed his matriculation examination as a private candidate from Punjab School Education Board.
On the pretext to sale the medicines, he often entered the sensitive defence locations and collected information about Armys arms and ammunition depot besides movement of various units of the Army, Railway lines and bridges to further communicate the same to its higher up on the other side of border through Internet.
He also started employing local youth with an aim to exploit them as his agent in future.
