Three senior police officials, who were transferred from the district on the orders of Election Commission prior to January 9 Tirumangalam assembly bypoll, have been shifted back to their posts.
Three senior police officials, who were transferred from the district on the orders of Election Commission prior to January 9 Tirumangalam assembly bypoll, have been shifted back to their posts, official sources said on Tuesday.
Madurai range DIG Krishnamoorthy, Rural SP P Manohar and DSP Sundaresan were transferred following complaints by AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa to Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta that police were hand in glove with DMK workers.

She had asked for transfer of the police officials for the smooth conduct of the polls.
According to the order issued on Monday, the three officials have been shifted back to their posts, the sources said.
